Like many people I have had the pleasure of meeting and helping with their ‘trip of a life time’ to Canada, this destination is one that I have been eager to tick off my bucket list for quite some time. So turning down an opportunity that was presented to me to experience what my clients rave about was not going to happen.
Tony (Dunedin) loves India, but it wasn't an instant love affair. First impressions after crossing the Nepali border in 1989 weren't great. I spent my time in Delhi sweating, cramping and I am sure you can guess, profusely. But then we headed west to Agra, Jaipur, into the stunning Kashmir region and on to the Golden Temple and Amritsar. By the time we crossed the border into Pakistan my first impressions had evolved into a yearning to return. 28 years on from that journey my wife Kath and I now had the opportunity to revisit with our two boys Alex (13) and Liam (11) in tow. This time we would head south to the states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
For Stephanie (Dunedin) cruising has never really been on her bucket list. Fortunately an opportunity materialised for a 3 night cruise leaving Singapore with a stop in Kuala Lumpur. Seizing the opportunity to blow her preconceptions of cruising into the Malacca Straits she bravely headed into the unknown ...
I have been wanting to take my boys somewhere extraordinary for ages. We have previously traveled, as a family, well worn routes through North America and Australia. Now my wife and I thought it was time to challenge everything they thought they knew about the world. We decided on Vietnam in the hope it would provide a physical, emotional and sensory experience the boys would never forget.
One cold miserable night in Oamaru I made a pretty rash decision to book a trip to Thailand. I think I had just watched a cooking show where they were making Phad Thai. I was craving hot weather and an exciting adventure! After swiping the fantastic plastic it soon dawned on me that my dream trip to Thailand was actually happening!
